The range of Non-Geographic Numbers (NGNs) in use is being reduced. NGNs are phone numbers beginning with 1800, 1850, 1890, 0818 and 076.
From 1 January 2022, the number of NGN ranges will be reduced from five to two. All NGNs apart from 1800 Freephone and 0818 range will be withdrawn.
Therefore, the NSSO is changing its contact centre phone number from 1 November 2021.
- The new contact centre number is 0818 107 100.

The Payroll Contact Centre (formerly the Helpdesk) can now be reached via option 1 with the following options available:
- Press 1 for All Retirees
- Press 2 Employee Salary and Core Portal Queries
- Press 3 Expense System Input Queries
- Press 4 Military – Soldiers, Officers and Reservists
Please Note: The relevant option has been highlighted in bold for ease of reference.
The hours of service for our Contact Centre phone line are Monday to Friday 9.00 to 13.00.
There will be a period of transition for customers to become familiar with the new number and to allow the old number to re-route to the new number. On 1 January 2022, the old number will no longer be valid.
