FOR ATTENTION OF EIRCOM PENSIONERS – CURRENT BALLOT ON TRUSTEE ARRANGEMENTS
Eircom pensioner members will recall that information was included in the RCPSA Annual Report for 2024 about a Plebiscite to enable direct elections for Trustees of the Eircom Superannuation Main and No2 Funds. That plebiscite took place and Lane Clark and Peacock Ireland Ltd are conducting a preliminary poll of members of each of the two schemes.
Members of the eircom Superannuation Fund and members of the eircom No. 2 Superannuation Fund should by now have received a pack of documents about the poll, including ballot papers. If you are a member of either scheme and have not received the documents, you should contact Roma Burke of LCP on 01-6144393 as a matter of urgency. The closing date for receipt of completed ballot papers is Thursday 10 September 2026 at 17:00 (5:00pm). Ballot papers received after that deadline will not be counted. There is a different ballot paper for each scheme.
Under current arrangements, there are no directly elected Trustee members.
Members are being presented with two alternatives:
A standard arrangement, under which 4 member Trustees (active or retired) would be elected by all members (active and retired). In the case of the No. 2 Fund, 3 member Trustees (active or retired) would be elected by all members (active and retired).
Or an alternative arrangement, under which one Trustee position in each of the Schemes would be filled by a pensioner member.
There are detailed conditions for each proposal and it is important to read carefully the documentation provided before deciding. The Association of Eircom Pensioners (AoEP) has information on their website, as has the Communication Workers Unsion (CWU). The decision is a matter for each member.

It is the view of the Council of the RCPSA that the STANDARD arrangement provides the greater opportunity for pensioner participation.
