This Fund provides funding for the benefits in respect of members’ service in the company prior to 1 January 1984. It received a single contribution from the State when the Fund was initially established. There have been no further contributions by the State and no ongoing contributions to the Fund.
Members were advised in the 2020 Newsletter that the Trustees anticipated that the Fund would move to a pay-as-you-go arrangement as agreed with the Minister in early 2021. Please be advised that the Minister is paying monies into the Fund on a scheduled basis in respect of benefits to be paid.
