Encouraging signs

Public servants are due the final instalment of the Public Service Stability Agreement on October 1 2020 (a 2% increase).  The Irish Independent reported on 1 July that the new Minster for Public Expenditure and Reform, Mr Michael McGrath TD, has indicated that the Government will honour the wage increase due under a pay deal, saying that he thinks “..it is important to bring the current agreement to an end in an orderly manner” and the outstanding work many public servants have done should be recognised.

Obviously nothing is final until it’s final, but at least the signs are encouraging so far.
